The team at Touchwood® Solidwood Homes has been building reliable, solid timber homes for many years, and with that experience behind us we have developed a unique wood building system which can be used for both contemporary and traditionally designed homes.
Meet the team below!
A local through and through, I was born right here in Auckland on the North Shore. Starting as an apprentice for my father, I became a fully qualified builder in 1984 and was self-employed by the time I was 26. My drive and passion for owning my own business and doing what I love at the same time finally paid off; in 2002, my wife Cherie and I started our first company – DSD Contracting Ltd.
As a current member of the Certified Builders Association, I have a reputation for honesty, reliability and attention to detail, which translates to how I can run my company. By doing just that, I have forged strong alliances with many leading figures in the building industry, which has, helped me deliver world-class quality work to my clients.
We believe in good old-fashioned customer service, which means putting the customer first, solving problems and personalising every experience.
Now a family man with three grown sons and four grandchildren. And currently, my dad and two of our sons work for us too.
So, Touchwood really is our family business!
I love being part of the process that helps families have better homes. I grew up on the North Shore and went to Northcote College.
I married Stephen in 1991 and had our first two sons while living in Glenfield. Later, in 1995, we moved to Kaukapakapa and had our third son. After having kids, I worked from home for 18 years as a data entry operator for a marketing company while the boys grew up.
In 2002, I started DSD Contracting Ltd with Stephen, which is still running. Now together, we have opened Touchwood Solidwood Homes.
My role mainly involves office administration. However, I love getting involved with our clients and assisting wherever possible.
The future is always exciting when you build a new home for a family. So, I look forward to working with you on your next project.
We want your home to be your absolute dream home. Any changes you’d like to make at any stage of the project is your choice, because we not only want to meet, but exceed your expectations. If there are any changes to be made, we’ll sit down with you and work out any impact these changes will have on the end price, and then both agree on the changes before proceeding.
You’ll be kept in constant contact throughout the duration of your project, making sure you’re happy with the progress being made.
We will always be one call away to arrange your visit to the site, or an extra meeting if required.
